Dr Stef Menzies and Iara Cardoso (Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine) attended the 11th International Toxinology Meeting – Venoms and Toxins in Oxford (20-22 August 2024), sharing results from the work of ADDovenom’s researchers with over 100 attendees.
Stef’s oral presentation – An in vitro toolkit to characterise the effects of venom neurotoxins on human targets – began the ‘Managing Envenoming’ session on Day 2.
Iara (pictured) presented the poster: A comprehensive in vitro study to map the neurotoxic profile of black mamba (D. polylepis) venom. This was based on research from ADDovenom researchers Iara, Stef and Prof Nicholas Casewell (LSTM), and Damien Redureau and Prof Loic Quinton (Liege), among others.
