Professor Robert Harrison is Head of the Centre for Snakebite Research and Interventions at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. He is an internationally recognized expert with 30+ years experience in the fields of toxicology, snakebite envenoming, and antivenom research. This is reflected in his advisory duties for the WHO Snakebite Envenoming Working Group (appointed 2018) and for the ‘WHO Guidelines for the Production, Control and Regulation of Snake Antivenom Immunoglobulins’.

Professor Harrison is Member of the Scientific Steering Committee of the Global Snake Bite Initiative (since 2008) and of the Antivenom Advisory Committee, PHE, UK (since 2008). Furthermore, he is Advisor on snakebite and antivenom issues for the Presidential Committee for North East Nigeria Initiative (since 2018).
