Congratulations to ADDovenom project partner Paula Alves (CEO of iBET – Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica), who has been elected foreign member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), one of the most prestigious awards in engineering.
Paula, who is also Principal Investigator at ITQB NOVA and Professor at Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, is the first Portuguese woman to be elected to NAE, and only the second elected Portuguese member.
According to NAE, her election is due to “leadership in biomanufacturing, advanced biotherapeutics, and bridging the gap between academia and industry.“
